In my process, I use a combination of 3D and VR sculpting. Sculpting in virtual reality feels oddly tangible, like sculpting clay with a lathe! I loved playing with the almost surreal idea of capturing each color as a somewhat physical piece… but in a realm where the physical has taken on new meaning. So rather than a literal representation of the nail polish, I took the more abstract route of capturing the essence of the nail polish. The shade ‘Clear Your Cash’ is my absolute favorite color, so instead of color-washing the whole composition in varying shades of light lime, I played here with contrast as my tool, the gorgeous bright green being front and center, taking the form of my hero sculpture, with a backdrop of dreamy pinks (classic me) to create a striking contrast and give her the spotlight she deserves.
