The Huxleys

This work was created by The Huxleys as a special one-off Artwork for the Sydney Morning Herald. 'Hibiscus' is a tribute to the glorious performance artist Hibiscus (1949-1982) a founding member of acid drag performance group 'The Cockettes'. Hibiscus was a genuine original, a sparkling gift from the gay gods. His body may have been lost to the HIV/AIDS epidemic of the 1980's, but his spirit lives on in the many queer acolytes that shine in his wake.
