For this series, I wanted to explore nail polish's viscous and glossy qualities while still introducing abstract storytelling elements into the animation. Throughout this process, I experimented with various semi-translucent textures and biomorphic forms to create a virtual sculptural piece that offers the audience a sense of familiarity and unfamiliarity as the nail polish trickles down the artwork. This was the first time I've done an interactive liquid simulation of this type, making the creation of the work a fun yet challenging experience! With all of this in mind, I wanted to explore the dynamic properties of color through form and abstraction, with each piece of the series evoking a different feeling and mood. Silicone Valley Girl is commanding and bold, a statement color for sure! The orange energizes the audience and leaves them with an enthusiastic spirit.
